The Best Interview Techniques for the Younger Generation – Finding a career whilst being a young job seeker is perhaps one of the most difficult things someone could do. You want to make sure that you are taking full advantage of the right opportunity, but how can you be sure that this is the opportunity for you? In addition to that, there are many things that can hold you back, lack of experience being one of the main factors.

Find Experience Any Way You Can

Experience is something that every employer looks for, and they often rank it above everything else. Ultimately, experience is going to be one of the things that will either make or break your career search. If you don’t have experience then you’re going to be at a huge disadvantage compared to someone that does, and with the job market being so competitive now, this is something that you shouldn’t take lightly.

Many of us actually have experience in certain fields, we just don’t recognize it. For example, if this is your first job, you might have done something in school or in a sport/hobby that has provided you with experience that will translate into your career field. A good example of this is if you have competed in a team sport, you will easily be able to show your employer that you have good team-working skills that will help you in your job.

Confidence goes a long way, and if you’re confident in the way you speak, your potential employer will pick up on this and he or she will assume that you are definitely a good fit for the job. Practice up on your speaking, drop the “ah”, “um”, and “erm”, and most importantly talk in the other person’s interests. This means that you should clearly explain to the employer how you can benefit them, and not how they can benefit you!
