Our Client is seeking a Director of Human Resources in Portland, Oregon. The Director of Human Resources is an integral role that contributes greatly to team member performance and employee engagement. In this role, the Director of Human Resources will successfully manage team member services, oversee recruiting initiatives, and partner with senior leadership to create operational policies and procedures.

Team Member Services: Ensure resources are readily available to team members and initiatives are being executed at the highest level possible. Consistently acquire the most updated information on employee regulations and laws, ensuring that the company is in compliance. Represent the company in Unemployment, Worker’s Compensation, EEO, OSHA, ADA, and FMLA inquiries. Manage the annual performance review program: ensure team member reviews are facilitated and submitted to the Human Resources department by set deadlines and that wage/salary information has been approved and submitted to payroll. Uphold the Company’s open-door policy and provide team members with counseling, coaching, and mentoring. Manage the HR database and administer reports to analyze HR functions and team member resources. Handle team member grievances and oversee investigations, assist in the performance plan or termination processes as a result. Direct and participate in the on-boarding of team members, ensuring all new-hires have been properly introduced to the Company and have met the necessary requirement to begin working.

Recruiting Initiatives:

Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager to attract and hire the best talent for the Company. Contribute to the recruiting efforts for high-profile positions, specifically senior and executive leadership. Oversee the participation and representation of the Company at college recruitment events and community job fairs. Regulate the team member referral program and approve/submit bonuses to payroll. Conduct reporting to monitor open positions and team member turn over, distribute statistics to senior leadership and the Executive Team. Ensure the talent acquisition team is within legal guidelines for recruiting efforts at all times.

Operational Policies and Procedures: Work with senior leaders to design manageable standards for the company that promote efficiency and protect the owners from legal risks. Lead the efforts to update the team member handbook and organizational chart. Create job descriptions for corporate support and on-site positions of the organization and revise content on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or eight+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SPHR or PHR and property management industry experience required.
